Formetco Sports is thrilled to announce that Kai Schultz, a senior at Woodstock High School, has been awarded the prestigious 2024 $5,000 Gameday Excellence Scholarship. In addition to this accolade, Kai has also been selected as the High School Student Engagement Ambassador for the 2024-2025 academic year, leading efforts to enhance gameday experiences and foster community engagement through Formetco Connect.
The scholarship announcement was made during the 2024 Formetco Sports Scoreboard Summer Camp, held on July 18th. This annual event, which is free to attend, provides high school AV students, teachers, and athletic directors with hands-on training from industry experts, focusing on AV best practices and career paths in the audiovisual industry. The camp includes breakout sessions with real AV equipment and software, networking opportunities with professionals, and a fun ice cream social.
Kai Schultz expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunity, saying, “I am incredibly thankful to serve as the 2024-2025 Formetco Connect Student Ambassador. I am excited to be working with all of you to provide ideas and inspiration to better your school’s AV program!”
Daniel Hooper, Formetco’s Marketing Director, praised Schultz’s accomplishments, stating, “Kai has done and is doing amazing work at Woodstock High. We are thrilled to have him come lead the Ambassador program for Formetco Connect. Noah Popp built the foundation for the community and has passed on the torch to a very deserving individual. We look forward to working with Kai to expand Formetco Connect to even greater heights.”
Noah Popp, the recipient of the 2023 Gameday Excellence Scholarship, was instrumental in shaping the Formetco Connect community during his tenure as Student Ambassador. A student at Sequoyah High School, Noah’s innovative ideas and dedication to enhancing the gameday atmosphere set a high standard. His efforts included implementing Formetco Connect and fostering a network of engaged students, thus creating a vibrant and inclusive environment for all participants. In a groundbreaking tribute, Formetco has renamed the 2025 scholarship as the Noah Pop Game Day Excellence Scholarship to honor his trailblazing leadership as our first ever student ambassador.
Formetco Sports hosts the Gameday Excellence Scholarship contest annually, providing high school students with the opportunity to showcase their leadership skills, creativity, and commitment to enhancing the gameday experience. Participants not only compete for a $5,000 scholarship but also have the chance to become the next Formetco Connect Student Ambassador.
The competition is open to any student registered to attend the Formetco Scoreboard Summer Camp. Applicants must demonstrate their involvement in gameday events or AV pursuits at their school and submit a plan outlining how they would contribute to the Formetco Connect community.
